I Love K-State

Today, President Bush delivered the 142nd Landon Lecture at Kansas State University. Fantastic.

From what I understand, there were a couple of hippies protesting, but they stopped when they realized that nobody on the entire campus was listening to them. Things must have gone pretty good, because Bush reportedly stopped by Last Chance for a Big Beer and a spirited rendition of Wabash Cannonball before getting back on AirForce One.

I made that last part up.

It's nice Bush only has beer and a football jersey going for him.

I see you have neglected to post anything of substance.

I am going to ignore the racist joke. It's the kind of thing you people would do.

The littlest democrat (Sarah) also posted about GWB at K-State. Here was my comment to her:

"I think it's funny that we both wrote about this today, and that my post is the only one that makes any sense. I think your post may have been screwed up by some kind of liberal blogger filter or something. You should call them about that.

You should have included the picture of Bush with the KSU Football jersey. Clearly, after the crowd realized that W was on the football team, any type of criticism went out the window.

On a side note, I understand that the Dems have elected to forego any type of primary elections and have decided Hillary will be their presidential candidate. Evidently her slogan is "Takin' it back from Whitey". Barak Obama was going to be the VP, but bowed out, saying, "I'm sorry, but I'm just not that ghetto. Best of luck to the H-Dog getting into the White Hizzouse." "

AND,there was lots of substance:

1. I noted that this was the 142nd Landon Lecture.

2. It was "Fantastic."

3. There were hippies.

1. No, I actually think that Obama is one of the few Dems intelligent enough to know that Hillary's patronizing attitude toward anyone who isn't upper-class and white will never move the Democratic party forward. I think Obama would say hizzouse sarcasticly.

2. In my experience, K-State BSU is a more racist organization than any other campus sponsored group, so I give them as much respect as I give Al Franken, Rush Limbaugh, Ted Kennedy and Pat Buchanon.

3. Yes, all non-Republicans are hippies. It is just one of constants in the world.

I'm not a republican, and I am not a hippie.

And yes I would agree than on the average the BSU is more racist than the average student population.

And I think that Bush's speech was pretty good.

And just to add in another fact: Pres. Bush wore a purple tie.

Ok. Maybe not ALL non-republicans are hippies. There might be like 9 or 10 that aren't.

Is it safe to say that there are no hippy republicans? I think so. Let's go with that.

I sense a lot of hostility on the part of the littlest democrat and her friends. Just take a couple of breaths and relax. Remember, even if you don't agree with the President, it was a great honor that he came and spoke at our great university.

I might add that if this is the biased tone the littlest democrat is using in her journalist compositions, it is no wonder that the general public is upset with the liberal slant given to most mainstream media pieces. Remember, as a journalist, it is your job to report the facts presented not the little hippie voice screaming inside your head.

P.S. I think the more acurate statement is that there are no Republican hippies. I do know democrat non-hippies, but granted, there aren't many.

Sorry I didn't get this in before, but what the hell is with the kid asking about Brokeback Mountain.

Here's the official question: "You're a rancher. A lot of us here in Kansas are ranchers. I was just wanting to get your opinion on 'Brokeback Mountain', if you've seen it?"

What a fucking idiot. First, he is clearly not a rancher. Second, ranching has nothing to do with the crap going on in Brokeback Mountain. Third, the movie had nothing to do with Kansas. Fourth, the movie had nothing to do with the President's speech.

If this is some roundabout way to corner the President into making a statement on gays, pretty shitty on his part. The President is smarter than that (obvious from his response). People wonder why more question and answer sessions aren't done at these things, here is a good example. Ask a damn question that is on topic and straight forward or join the line of worthless hippy protesters outside and quit wasting valuable Q and A time.

This questioner kid's name is Jeremy Parker who tormented me in high school and then was fired from the Collegian when I was editor because he said he wasn't going to run for student body president and then did. And it was all a joke. Unfortunately he is getting a lot of attention and it will be on Inside Edition tonight. I thought it was clever and funny. If you're from the Bush camp, it's good because it can be used as evidence that the questions aren't always pre-screened by the Bush administration.

P.S. It is an honor he spoke. It's even nice he wore a purple tie and tried to make jokes about Aggieville. But just because he's president doesn't mean I have to agree with everything or anything he says.

I don't make journalist compositions, shows how much you know :) I just sit here and write opinionated things on people's blogs mainly because I can. Plus, better here than in the newspaper, which if you accuse me of bias, you should at least know that I can shoot bullets of my eyes.

Ah, Landon Lectures...I mostly remember getting to skip class and eat lunch at the mall!

As the token Kansan here in South Dakota, the oh-so-Republican-state- that-thought-it-was-a-good-idea-to- oust-Tom-Daschle-from-the-Senate, I have gotten a lot of grief about that Jeremy kid and his Brokeback question. Sheesh.
